Greetings! Welcome to the official page of Emirati Astronaut. Emirati Astronaut is a platform for all aspiring astronauts, space explorers and science enthusiasts to connect and discuss all their ideas and suggestions in the fields of space, science and technology.  Through the visitors page of the website, aspiring astronauts and space lovers can have their own say about space, writing their story, and getting the people engaged, showing the world their ideas and passion about the universe we live in. In the news section, you can find the latest news out there, from recent research articles to the most interesting stuff on the media, and yes we mean Aliens, so keep checking it daily.

About Me

Emirati Astronaut is an initiative started by Alia Almansoori in May 2017. Alia Almansoori is a school student who’s passionate about space, science, and technology. Reading scientific journals, space books and watching sci-fi movies have inspired her to want to learn more about those fields. Her dream is to be one of the first astronauts who will set foot on Mars, and raise the UAE flag on the red planet. Recently, she was honored to be the first Emirati to win the Genes in Space competition organized by the UAE space agency. This motivated her to join science competitions and participate in events to further her knowledge in those fields. Her ultimate goal is to one day make her country proud.

About UAE's Space Program

The Emirates Mars Mission (EMM) is part of the UAE Space program and is set to launch the hope spacecraft in july 2020 on a seven month trip to Mars. The UAE Space program also includes a new program to prepare Emirati astronauts.

“Our national space program is a solid platform to prepare Emiratis cadres specialized in airspace sciences, and qualify future generations that are able to contribute to humanity knowledge,” Mohammed bin Rashid said.  “We plan to send the first Emirati astronaut to the space over the next few years, and starting from today, we are preparing the first Emirati and Arab astronaut to join scientists at the International Space Station.”

Sheikh Mohammed said that the UAE space program is a message to the Arab world that our sons are able to compete on the global level. “Our objective is to show the world that we are able to contribute to humanity through quality knowledge  and scientific discoveries,” he said.

Our vision is to build a generation that will take humanity further into space by connecting and sharing knowledge for the better good. We would like to inspire the younger generation both on ground and in space.
